Black-owned enterprises have been operating for a long time. However, they have never had the same level of exposure as white-owned firms. That needs to change! There are ways to help them grow.
Here are five tips to get started:
Start with an online business plan. A business plan will give you a framework for running your business. It will also help you identify potential challenges and opportunities.
Get professional advice. If you need help to get started, ask friends, family members, or colleagues who've been through similar experiences. They might offer some free advice or refer you to a business coach.
Find funding sources. There are several kinds of funding available for black-owned businesses. You can apply for microcredit, use peer-to-peer lending, consider crowdfunding, or other forms of financial help.
Build a network. One of the most successful ways to locate new clients and partners is through networking. Join groups on social media platforms such as Facebook and LinkedIn. Attend networking events in your neighborhood to give away product samples or tell people about your services.
Be patient. Even though you may not see immediate results, expect to see progress over time.
